Panelist Spotlight: Montu Miller
Montu has worked in many capacities as ambassador of Athens’ thriving and growing hip-hop community. Montu has served as an archivist/videographer for KRS-One, co-owns two entertainment groups, and manages three local hip-hop artists. Montu has organized the annual Athens Hip-Hop Awards at the Morton Theatre, King of the Ring Emcee Battle, and the Athens Hip-Hop Homecoming. Finally, he’s active as a board member for the Lyndon House Arts Foundation and the Hot Corner Festival. We’re looking forward to hearing Montu’s ideas on how to continue growing an area of Athens music that has expanded greatly in the past few years as part of the Athens Music Scene Townhall.

Panelist Spotlight: Jeremy Wheatley

jeremy wheatley

Jeremy is a long-time fixture in Athens’ music scene as a drummer and songwriter. In addition to performing his own material, Jeremy is the drummer for Crooked Fingers and Ruby the Rabbitfoot and has performed with countless other bands as a studio and touring musician. When he’s not behind his beloved Tama or C&C kit, Jeremy is an academic adviser with the Honors Program at UGA. We can’t wait to hear what Jeremy has to say at our Athens Music Scene Town Hall.
