PAM 2016

We’re excited to announce Protect Athens Music 2016!

This year’s conference will host two panels at the 40 Watt Club on Tuesday, March 1 from 4:30-7:00pm:

Georgia Producers Panel

This panel focuses on record producers in Georgia, and their views on music culture at a local, state-wide, and national level. With the help of our friends at Georgia Music, we have put together an extremely exciting group of producers who have shaped the Georgia music scene across a variety of genres. Andrew Rieger of Elf Power will moderate.

Panelists

  • Neal Pogue: a Grammy Award winner based out of Atlanta, Neal has worked with some of the most legendary hip-hop artists of our era including Outkast, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj.
  • Mark Neill: a resident of Valdosta, Mark runs the Soil of the South Studios. Mark produced one of the best selling and most acclaimed albums of the decade: The Black Keys’ 2010 album Brothers.
  • David Barbe: our very own local legend, David runs Chase Park Transduction Studios in Athens and is the director of the University of Georgia’s Music Business Certificate Program. David has produced records for Deerhunter, Drive-By Truckers, and Bambara.

Current State of Affairs in Ticketing Panel

Pandora’s 2015 purchase of Ticketfly proved that the ticketing industry remains one of the most viable, if not fully understood, areas of ticketing. We’ll have speakers representing state ticketing companies as well as local venues. David Lowery, frontman of Cracker and Camper van Beethoven, will moderate.

Panelists

  • Iain Bluett: president and co-founder of Ticket Alternative and Freshtix, Iain has been a leader in the ticketing industry for 10 years. Bluett and his company providing ticketing solutions for venues, festivals, professional sports teams, and more.
  • Velena Vego: talent buyer and booking agent for The Buckhead Theatre and 40 Watt Club, Vego is an industry expert in both ticketing and management.
  • Julie Roach: accomplished music industry lawyer for Live Nation Entertainment.

PAM begins at 4:30 PM with a meet and greet happy hour and the first panel will begin at 5:00 PM.
